Memorize
Memorize a Bible verse
Read it, fill the gaps, then say it from memory. Pick any verse below — or one you have saved in the app.
Read it through first.
Why three passes
Reading a verse again and again feels like learning it, but recognising words is easier than producing them. So the second pass hides some of the words and asks you to supply them, and the third hides the verse entirely and asks for it from memory. Each step only opens once the last one comes easily.
Short verses go in fastest: start with one you already half know, like Psalm 23:1 or John 3:16, and come back to it the next day before starting another. The verses you save in the app appear here too, so the ones that matter to you are the ones you practise.
Frequently asked questions
How does it work?
Three passes over the same verse. Read it whole, then put back about a quarter of the words, then about half. Only the words that carry the verse are hidden — never “the” or “of”.
Can I practise my own verses?
Yes. Anything you keep in the app appears at the top of the picker, marked “kept”. Everything is stored on your own device and never sent anywhere.
What is a good verse to memorize first?
A short one you already half-know. Psalm 23:1, John 3:16 and Philippians 4:13 are the usual starting points, and all three are in the list below.
